It was a momentous occasion as pastors and leaders from the British Union Conference (BUC), a vital part of our Division, were among the nearly 1200 attendees across the Trans-European Division (TED) who gathered for the quinquennial European Pastors' Council in Belgrade, Serbia.
The meeting was a beautiful tapestry of our diverse community. It was attended by pastors and spouses, Bible workers, and leaders from the various Unions and Conferences comprising the 22 countries of the TED. From Tuesday, 27 August, to Sabbath, 31 August, the Sava Centre in Belgrade was a hub of activities as we all came together. Other guests included leaders from the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and speakers for the various workshops.
Welcoming attendees at the opening ceremony, TED President Dr Daniel Duda and the council coordinator Dr Patrick Johnson, TED Ministerial Association Secretary, shared the importance of the fifth quinquennial council for professional development, spiritual growth, and networking. They reiterated the 'Engaged in Mission' theme, which focuses on three sub-themes of 'Extend Love, Grow Lifelong Disciples and Multiply Communities' as the strategic plan for the territory's outreach endeavours. Each sub-theme was the focus for the daily presentations. The BUC comprise about 50 per cent of the entire membership of the Trans-European Division.
